Tour of Missouri: Stage 1 midpoint
Jake and I made a breakaway from the ToM start and headed for Platte City to catch the riders as they passed through. With nuvi guiding us all the way (including a pit stop at a Dairy Queen for a little sustenance and blogging time), we made it to PC just in time to see a 3-man breakaway with a 4-minute lead on the peloton. We caught a glimpse of argyle at the front of the peloton as the mass of cyclists plowed through this teeny town. We’re back on the road, headed for the finish. Uh-oh … the wipers just came on. Hope for the riders’ sake the rain is short-lived.
