Tour de France: Catching up with Tommy D on a rest day
In his first Tour de France, Team Garmin’s Tom Danielson has outpaced all but eight of the world’s best cyclists after 15 stages. So during today’s rest day, we’ve rounded up some links to give everyone a chance to catch up with Tommy D and hear his thoughts on his amazing debut. First off is a rest-day interview with CyclingNews.com in which Tom talks about his love of Chipotle and climbing mountains and how he never would have thought the two would come together in the Tour de France. Then in these links, you can see Tommy D talking to Bicycling.com about the fun he had in Stage 13 despite running a little low on fuel, and how Stage 14 represented both the best of times and the worst of times. And just for some flashback fun, we went back to the 2010 Tour of California, where Jake from the Garmin blog interviewed Tommy D for Bicycling.com about the pros’ favorite features of the Edge 500 and how they come in handy in training and racing.
