With summer and fishing season fast approaching, it’s time to get those boats out and get back onto the water.  To help you catch more fish this year, we’ve got some of the latest and greatest technology to make fishing easier than ever.  Due to all the recent advancements in marine technology, the products that we offer make it incredibly easy for you to get around on the water and find fish.

We just recently introduced our down and side-scanning technology, DownVü and SideVü.  DownVü provides a very clear, precise representation of what is in the water directly below the boat.  A thin, narrow sonar beam ‘scans’ the water below and provides a near picture-like image of what the boat is passing over.  This allows you to easily find fish or sunken structures in pristine detail.

SideVü is a similar technology to DownVü but instead of the beam scanning directly below the boat, SideVü scans out to the sides of the boat.   With SideVü, you’re given the ability to see out to either side of the boat, allowing you to better investigate shorelines or submerged trees or structure without having to be right next to them.

This scanning sonar is pivotal in catching fish but it’s also crucial to have very detailed mapping when fishing.  For the greatest detail, we have LakeVü HD, a database of over 17,000 US inland lakes.  Of those lakes, over 5,700 have 1-foot contours throughout the entire lake, giving you extreme detail.  Any drop-offs or prime locations for those fish to hang out will be right there in front of you with LakeVü HD.

One of our premier chartplotters that can display DownVü and SideVü (GCV 10 sonar black box required) is the GPSMAP 741xs.  With a vibrant, 7” pinch-to-zoom touchscreen, the 741xs comes preloaded with coastal maps for the US and LakeVü inland lake mapping.  It also has a built-in 10Hz GPS, meaning that the GPS is constantly refreshing position up to 10 times per second, giving pinpoint location at all times.  And with an extremely intuitive interface, the user has the best experience possible.

As an extension of the 741xs and numerous other Garmin chartplotters available, we have a free app, Garmin Helm, that allows you to view and control the chartplotter from the convenience of your iPhone or iPad.  The app provides enhanced situational awareness and easily switches from portrait to landscape mode to help accomodate various mounting options.  With full capability at your fingertips, you’ll never be out of control with Garmin Helm.
