Garmin Pilot Updates
We are excited to announce Garmin Pilot updates for both Apple and Android platforms with expanded capabilities and improved performance.
Apple iOS operating system’s newest version (7.3.1), offers VFR Terminal Area Charts (TACs) for the U.S. now available in high definition, providing a more crisp and clear image for navigation. The chart selector tool has also been enhanced allowing users with multiple Garmin Pilot licenses (e.g. U.S. and Canada) to choose which chart(s) will be overlaid. To download the new High Definition charts, select ‘U.S. VFR TACs – HD’ in the ‘Dowloads’ section of Garmin Pilot. To access the Map Layer Chart Selector, choose ‘VFR’, ‘IFR Low’ or ‘IFR High’ from the map layer icon within the Map section of Garmin Pilot.
Android users will also benefit from an upgrade as Garmin Pilot version 4.3 will display both terrain and obstacles overtop rich, dynamic navigation maps, VFR Sectionals, IFR high and low enroute charts. These overlays will display visual alerts of potential hazards enhancing situational awareness.
