Garmin helps Make-A-Wish for 8-year-old Miranda
The Garmin family loves to give back, so when we found out that a group of associates were trying to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, their teambuilding event soon turned into a company-wide effort. In just one week, more than 100 Garmin associates raised over $4,000 through chili luncheons, bake sales and a "Pie in the Face" contest, all in hopes of making one little girl's wish come true. Today, with tables full of pink princess-themed sweets and treats, Garmin associates let Miranda, 8, who is battling MERRF syndrom (a rare, progressive mitochondrial condition) and her parents know that Miranda's wish to see the princesses at Walt Disney World was going to come true! Miranda and her mom, dad and brother are off to Walt Disney World next month, and the Garmin family was honored to help make her wish come true. Have a great time at Disney World, princess Miranda!
