2011-07-24 15.57.22There are tons of interesting aircraft to see here at AirVenture, and we’re excited that so many of them are equipped with Garmin avionics.  At the Garmin exhibit, you can see a 1990 Shorts Tucano MK1 equipped with two Garmin G600 glass flight displays with Synthetic Vision Technology, GTN 750 touchscreen avionics, the GMA 35 remote audio panel, an SL30 NAV/COM, a GTX 33 ES transponder and a GDL 69A datalink receiver for XM weather and radio.

2011-07-25 12.41.36 Just a few steps away from the Tucano is a Van’s RV-6 equipped with Garmin G3X™ avionics for experimental and light sport aircraft. This installation is a 3-screen flight display with SVX™ Synthetic Vision. It’s also equipped with a GMA 240 audio panel and a GTX 330 Mode S digital transponder.

Want to see more? You can head over to ConocoPhillips Plaza to see Burt Rutan’s Boomerang and Catbird on display. The Boomerang is equipped with our touchscreen GTN 750 and also has our newest audio panel, the GMA 350 with 3D audio technology. The Catbird is equipped with Garmin’s premium aviation portable, the GPSMAP® 696.

2011-07-25 18.24.41 And one more aircraft that you won’t want to miss is the 1970 Cessna Skymaster that was recently featured on ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Garmin was honored to help refurbish Joe Hurston’s airplane and outfit it with a complete line of Garmin avionics, including a G500 and dual GNS 430Ws. The missionary pilot uses his aircraft to deliver water purifiers and supplies to those in need. His aircraft is on display here at AirVenture where he is telling his story of helping the people of Haiti with his water purification efforts.

If you have a Garmin-equipped aircraft, we want to see it! Post a picture of your panel to our Facebook page or submit it to our Show Us Your Panel page, and we’ll upload it to our online gallery.
