Garmin at Oshkosh: Day 5 – Round Table with Burt Rutan

787It was an exciting morning at AirVenture with the arrival of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. After making two low and slow passes, the aircraft landed and is opening for attendees to tour the interior.

And the excitement continues this afternoon with an opportunity for Oshkosh attendees to engage in a round table discussion with famous airplane designer and engineer, Burt Rutan. At 2:30 this afternoon, Burt will be in the Garmin seminar tent taking your questions!

Named “Entrepreneur of the Year” by Inc. magazine and described by Newsweek as “the man responsible for more innovations in modern aviation than any living engineer,” Burt Rutan is a bold entrepreneur and designer with the vision and passion for the advancement of technology. In 2004, he made international headlines as the designer of SpaceShipOne, the world’s first privately built Boomerang 003manned spacecraft to reach space. Rutan also designed the Voyager, the first aircraft to circle the world non-stop without refueling, and has recently worked to develop and produce commercial spaceships for flying the public.

Tn_boomerang3Burt's Boomerang is on display at ConocoPhillips Square here at AirVenture and is equipped with Garmin GTN 750 touchscreen avionics and the Garmin GMA 350 audio panel with 3D audio technology.
