Chicago Store: In-Store Event Fun
Had an outsider looked into the store’s 2nd floor theater last night, they might have thought we were screening some hot new movie. All the theater seats were packed, we had brought in extra chairs, and we had people standing in the back trying to get a glimpse of what was on the screen. But there was no Hollywood blockbuster being premiered, instead, we were putting on our first Aviation Event here in the store. Pilots from all over the area packed into the store to learn about WAAS, Garmin GPS units, and AOPA’s “Catch-a-Cardinal” program. A big thanks goes out to Julie Boatman from AOPA Pilot magazine, and to Scott Clark, our WINGS program presenter, and to one of our Regional Sales Managers who gave a very informative presentation over the Handheld 396/496 and the Panel Mount 430/530/GMX200.
Our next big in-store event is right around the corner. We’ve got our good friend Bart Yasso coming back on Saturday to give one of his excellent presentations. If you’ve never heard his stories about Burrow Racing, attendance is a must. Joining him will be Carey Pinkowski, Executive Race Director for the Chicago Marathon, who will tell you what you need to know in preparing for this year’s race. The event starts at 8:30 am with a 3 or 5-mile run, and will return to the store by 9:30 to start the presentations. Don’t miss out on this one!
