Chet’s Corner: From Google My Maps to your Garmin

Featurechetscorner_1I am increasingly interested in the Garmin Communicator plugin, and have therefore decided to post about that again today. This post comes from the Garmin Developer Blog, where they posted about a site that can take either your Google My Maps saved locations, or a .kml file from Google Earth and load it to your Garmin device with the Garmin Communicator Plugin.

The site that facilitates this is called Takitwithme.com. They have a demo video on their site on how to do this, but it’s literally as simple as taking the link from your My Maps page, and loading it into their site. Once you have done that, plug in your Garmin and transfer the data to your device.

This will allow you to keep all of your waypoints in one spot and load them to your device whenever you want. Things just get better and better, don’t they?
