Canadian Fishing Team Continues Strong Season with Garmin

Imagejpeg_2_FotorA few weeks ago we told you about Corey and Chris Johnston, a Garmin-sponsored Canadian fishing team based out of Ontario that was having a very successful month of June.  They won a local Pro Bass Tournament with a full suite of Garmin gear on board.

The Johnston boys didn't stop there.  They carried that momentum into the month of July and have been doing extremely well.  Corey and Chris competed in the CSFL (Competitive Sprot Fishing League) Casey Cup on Lake Simcoe in Orillia, Ontario.  With a 5 fish limit of smallmouth bass, the Johnstons won the tournament with a winning weight of 26.35 lbs – an average of over 5-1/4 lbs per fish.

Then, this last weekend, they fished the FLW Rayovac Tournament on Lake Champlain.  Chris ended up placing 2nd with a combined 3-day weight of 56 lbs.  This ended up netting him nearly $14,000 in winnings.  Cory placed 10th with nearly 48 lbs for the tournament and brought in nearly $4,000.

On board, they used 2 GPSMAP 1040xs chartplotters, a GCV 10 sounder black box (for DownVu and SideVu sonar) and Canada LakeVu HD Ultra and Canada g2 for mapping.

Again, great job to both Corey and Chris and we'll be rooting for them to continue their extremely successful year!
