Team X Introduces a New 7-Inch G3X Touch Display
Just ahead of the World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration in Oshkosh, Wisconsin next week, Garmin and Team X are excited to introduce a new G3X Touch 7-inch display option for experimental aircraft! The new touchscreen display compliments the existing 10.6-inch G3X Touch, offering even more panel design options and added redundancy.
The 7-inch G3X Touch display features a high-resolution, infrared touchscreen display. We’re certain pilots and aircraft homebuilders will be delighted with the 7-inch display, particularly if height and width constraints are of concern in their aircraft panel. Pilots who also want multiple displays, now have the option of installing up to three displays, using any combination of 10.6-inch or 7-inch G3X Touch displays. When paired with the 10.6-inch display, the 7-inch G3X Touch system can serve as a dedicated display for a variety of features including traffic, full-screen moving map, geo-referenced charts, engine information and even serve as a back-up primary flight display (PFD).
Also new, G3X Touch comes equipped to take advantage of the benefits of Connext. Pilots are offered the convenience of wireless cockpit connectivity, including wireless flight plan transfer via Bluetooth using Garmin Pilot on an iPad/iPhone or select Android mobile device. Furthermore, a G3X Touch system with a GDL 39R shares GPS, attitude, traffic and weather data so pilots can easily access a variety of information conveniently on their mobile device.
Synthetic vision (SVX) is standard on G3X Touch, which provides a rich, 3D depiction of terrain, obstacles, water features and the runway environment. VFR Sectionals, IFR Enroute Charts, geo-referenced SafeTaxi airport diagrams, and FliteCharts terminal procedures for the U.S., Europe and Canada are offered on all G3X Touch displays.
Full support for Connext and the 7-inch G3X touch display is anticipated in Q4 2014.
