VIRB Mobile App: How to Export Video
With the rollout of the newly designed VIRB mobile app, creating content from your mobile device couldn’t be easier. Now you can connect, edit, manage, and share your content directly from your mobile device. There are a lot of new features within the app, but this week we want to focus on how to export and share your content directly from your phone.
You just finished a long mountain bike ride where you recorded your two-wheeled adventure with VIRB XE and now you want to playback and edit what you just recorded. The first step is to enable the Wi-Fi on your VIRB XE and make sure it is connected to your mobile device. Once connected, open the VIRB app and navigate to the media library under the drop down menu in the upper right hand corner. Inside the media library you will have access to view what you just recorded, whether that be photos or video. After selecting a clip, you will notice three icons appear at the bottom of the screen. The left icon is shaped like a pen and is dedicated for editing, the middle icon is for exporting the clip without any additional edits, and the right icon is for deleting the clip all together.
Clicking on the pen shaped icon will prompt the editing feature. This is where you can adjust the length and speed of the clip, add music, and even add G-Metrix overlays to your video. Once you have your clip edited to your liking, you can then export that version by clicking the export icon in the top right corner of the screen. Once exported, your video will be saved to your mobile device and you can share your content with your friends, family, and even your favorite social media outlet.
This app requires Android 4.1 or newer, iOS 8.0 or newer for iPhones, and is also compatible with iPad, and iPod touch.
