Victor’s Vectors: Flight planning from your PC

Flight Plan Migrator Kit Have you ever wished you could create a flight plan on your PC and quickly load it into your Garmin GPS, without having to input points manually while sitting in your plane on the ramp?  There’s no need to keep wishing because you can now generate and transfer flight plans with the 3.20 software release for the GNS 400W and 500W series units and Garmin’s new Flight Plan Migration Kit.  The kit can currently be purchased from your local Garmin Aviation dealer and works with Jeppesen’s FliteStar and Seattle Avionics’ Voyager programs.  Also look for this kit to be added to the accessories list on Garmin’s website in the near future.

As a side note, the kit’s card programmer is also able to update the terrain and obstacle databases on the TAWS/terrain card through www.fly.garmin.com.

If you do not have the 3.20 software, contact your local Garmin Aviation dealer and ask for the update.
