Vector 2 is about More than Just Power
Vector 2 is about more than just power. It helps you to be smarter and more efficient on the bike. Vector 2 offers you an advantage if you’re looking for continued improvement with the information and data it offers.
“Our vision was to do more than just report watts from the start,” Product Manager Consumer Products Clark Foy said. “Because we measure at the interface of the cyclist and the bike, we can see these forces and we can see how you are pedaling.”
With cycling dynamics, a suite of data measurements report back to you so you can see how you are doing. Here are three new metrics to keep an eye on:
- Position metric: This metric can determine if you’re standing or sitting while on your bike. This can be beneficial for post-ride analysis when you’re evaluating a climb to see when you were standing or sitting and what your metrics for both of them were.
- Power phase: This metric shows where you start to produce positive power in your pedal stroke and where you end producing positive power. This is a great tool to determine how you can make your pedal stroke more efficient.
- Platform center off-set: This metric can show you where you are applying force on the pedal body. You will be able to see if you are putting the majority of force on the outside of the pedal, inside the pedal or right down the center.
Vector 2 works in tandem with a compatible cycle computer or other fitness devices. During a ride, Vector 2 will measure total power and cadence and will send the data to compatible ANT+ enabled devices. Features like post-ride analysis, data sharing, mapping, route planning and more can be integrated into your training through Garmin Connect.
All of these features will supply the necessary information you need to improve performance and become a better cyclist.
