Cannondale Tour

Congrats to the Cannondale-Garmin Pro Cycling Team who finished the Tour de France on Sunday after the three-week excursion. With numerous breakaway efforts and close finishes Ride Argyle showed some solid results throughout the month of July.

In case you missed any of the action in July, you can see our weekly recaps here: Stages 1-3, Stages 4-7, Stages 8-13 and Stages 14-19 here. Below are the main top rider highlights and how they fared in the race.

Talansky

Andrew Talansky – Talansky climbed to eleventh on the general classification.  One of his other high points of the Tour was second place in Pra Loop on Stage 17. With a strong finishing kick, Talansky showed why he could be a top contender in this event for the next few years.

  Martin

Dan Martin– Martin had a few chances to capture stage victories early in the Tour, but fell just short during Stage 8 and 11. In both races he finished in second place. Martin also placed fourth at the difficult Mur de Huy stage. For his total effort on the Tour, Martin managed 39th overall on the general classification.

Ryder

Ryder Hesjedal– Hesjedal provided a lot of race drama in Stage 20, climbing Alpe d’Huez to a podium result. After a slow start to the Tour, Hesjedal pushed forward the last few days to be in the top portion of the field. He ended up in 40th place overall.

 Navardauskas

Ramunas Navardauskas– Another young, talented rider who sprinted hard to a sixth place finish in Stage 15. Navardauskas pushed the top riders on the team. He ended the Tour impressively, sprinting to a top-ten finish on the final stage in Paris.

Congrats to all the Ride Argyle teammates on a great Tour! Make sure to follow Garmin Fitness for latest updates on the team during the rest of the season.
