Tips from the pro: How Scott Martin uses his Garmin plotter in practice
Four-time FLW Tour winner, Scott Martin, knows a thing or two about practicing before a big tournament. Scott says the key to being efficient and effective in practice is to spend time getting to know the area with the help of your chartplotter. In the clip below, he explains how spending time with his Garmin GPSMAP 5208 to familiarize himself with the contour lines and bottom structure of the area, helps him figure out where the fish are – without ever making a single cast during practice. "You don't have to catch fish in practice to know where they are. If you have a good depth finder and chartplotter, you'll find a lot of fish," Scott explains.
