The Garmin Marathon, In The Land Of Oz: Interactive Courses

SpringSpring has officially sprung here at our World Headquarters in Olathe, KS and we are anticipating some amazing running weather for the April 21st Garmin Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k. Last minute preparations and organizing are taking place and the volunteers and race registrations keep pouring in.

"It is amazing how the sport of Running is able to bring communities together," said Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales, who will be running the half marathon. "We are excited to open our doors to the local community and to Forerunner owners from all over. I know I am excited to meet running legend Bart Yasso and to see all the smiling faces on race day," Bartel continued. Garmin Marathon (3)

As promised, we have placed interactive course files into Garmin Connect for you to take a peek at and to download to your compatible forerunners. You can even explore the course using the zoom, pan, or view detailed satellite imagery. For those of you who want to send the route to your device so you know exactly where you are on the course on race day or maybe for use on your training runs– simply press the Send to Device button. With many Forerunners, you'll then be able to let the Virtual Running Partner feature pace you through your race. If you'd rather save to myConnect (your Garmin Connect account) you can do that too– or share it with your facebook or twitter friends!
