Team Garmin: Triumph times two in Australia for Meyer brothers

Cam Travis With all eyes on Australia and the Tour Down Under kicking off the 2010 cycling season in just a few days, it was the perfect chance for Team Garmin to turn heads. And there's no better way to do that than to win a national championship. Or two. And keeping it in the family is a nice bonus. Cameron Meyer helped the argyle armada continue its winning ways from last season by capturing the Australian national time trial championship. Just days later, the focus was on younger brother Travis, whose fifth place in the time trial was his debut for Garmin-Transitions. Travis and Cam led a strong quartet of young guns into the Aussie road race, and director Matt White (another Aussie cycling star) felt that Garmin had a strong chance to double up at nationals with the Meyer brothers, Matt Wilson and World U-23 time trial champion Jack Bobridge. His premonition proved correct when Travis attacked and won in his first ever Elite Men’s Open Road Championship. Just like that, the Meyer brothers had a pair of gold medals and Team Garmin added a couple more national champion jerseys to its argyle wardrobe.

Team Garmin just announced a strong roster ready to battle for victories, with Bobridge, Wilson, Cam Meyer and Trent Lowe racing in their home country, Christian Meier representing Canada, and strongmen Julian Dean (New Zealand) and Robbie Hunter (South Africa) hunting for sprint victories. And with the best U23 team in the nation sweeping its awards and filling the pipeline with talent, we're ready for another amazing year! Allez argyle!
