RobbieFinishThink Team Garmin's Steven Cozza looked especially focused on Sunday? You can't blame him. While helping to deliver team leader and GC contender Dave Zabriskie safely to the finish of Stage 1, the northern California native knew that he had more friends, family and fans looking on than most race days. Cozza, a fan favorite for his famous facial hair, is not only feeding off that energy from the hometown crowd, he also found a way to give back. During the Tour of California, his charitable organization, Race For Kids, is getting $1 from every order from HandleBar Mustache (hbstache.com), an online shop for cycling shirts. And near the finish line – where Garmin sprinter Robbie Hunter nabbed fourth place in the stage – we noticed Steve's own signature T-shirt on a couple notable fans: his parents, who were toting an awesome mustachioed sign in Steve's honor.

ThunderStix The Tour of California continues tomorrow as Stage 2 begins in Davis, heads through wine country and wraps up in Santa Rosa. Click here to read a detailed preview from VeloNews – "I know Trinity Grade," Zabriskie told VeloNews, "we did it once, it was in the rain, and we rode it fairly conservative, because the downhill is screaming fast." Click here to see a video overview of the stage from Bicycling magazine. We'll be at the race finish with fellow sponsors Transitions, POM Wonderful, Felt Bicycles, Clif Bar, CamelBak and Pearl Izumi, and we'll be handing out thunder sticks and showing off the new argyle nuvis and Edge 500s. And as always, stay tuned at garmin.com/teamgarmin and @JakesJournal for behind-the-scenes updates and race results.
