TOC2010 041 The Argyle Armada had a secret mission today. The location: Victory Velo, a local Felt Bicycles dealer in Auburn, CA. The objectives: Meet some fans, recon the course and help raise some money. So at 9:30 this morning, most of Team Garmin's Tour of California roster gathered on the downtown streets with fans who had caught wind of the training ride. But before the group took off, they signed a custom painted Felt Cruiser – the cleverly named Felt Tip – and a couple magnums of local wine, all of which will be auctioned off tonight at the kickoff gala in Sacramento. But once the signatures were drying, the team fired up their Edge 500s and hit the streets for a sneak preview of Sunday's Stage 1.

Meanwhile, over in Italy at the Giro, sprinter Tyler Farrar reclaimed the red jersey for having the most sprint points and GC threat David Millar moved up to seventh overall, just 45 seconds back. Stay tuned to the Garmin blog and Slipstream's race updates, and get behind-the-scenes sights and sounds on Twitter from @JakesJournal and @Ride_Argyle
