Team Garmin-Sharp sports scientist Robby Ketchell talks aerodynamics
He’s been called the team’s secret weapon. The mastermind behind monumental time trial wins for Team Garmin-Sharp at the 2011 Tour de France and 2012 Giro d’Italia. A mind so focused on minutiae, he’s been known to study historical weather patterns for the past 30 years when he’s crafting a plan for an upcoming race and needs to predict wind directions and speeds that will impact the team’s riders. There’s no question Robby Ketchell, sports scientist for Team Garmin-Sharp, knows a thing or two about aerodynamics. Hear his analysis of the Vector pedal-based power meter and how its placement on the bike is unique from other power meters, eliminating extra turbulence and weight.
