Team Garmin: Johan van Summeren gets monumental win at Paris-Roubaix!

Johan Wins lo res Close up Moments ago, Johan van Summeren – a tireless workhorse willing to do whatever the team asks – just won the Queen of the Classics by attacking solo and holding off a late charge for a 19-second victory in the biggest one-day race of the season. With several world-class sprinters, classics specialists and the world champion on the roster, Garmin-Cervelo had several cards to play on the always unpredictable roads of Paris-Roubaix. In the end, Johan provided the biggest surprise of the day (and tallest winner of the race at 6'6") by getting into the breakaway, controlling the pace and attacking on his own when the time was right. As if that's not enough, he rode the final 5 km with a flat tire. For a glimpse of how gritty this race is, just take a look at Johan's mud-caked winning smile. And to top it all off, after crossing the finish line for the biggest victory of his career, he proposed to his girlfriend, Jasmine. She said yes, securing the title of Best. Day. Ever.

For details, action photos and reactions, read these race reports from VeloNews, Bicycling, CyclingNews and BikeRadar. And check out the team site for behind-the-scenes insight and exclusive coverage – and today only – free shipping on purchases from the team shop!

We'll add more pictures and quotes as we get them, and you can watch for yourself tonight when Versus starts three hours of coverage at 7 p.m. Eastern. Congrats again, Johan, and to everyone on Garmin-Cervelo!!
