Team Garmin holding steady at Tour of Britain

Julian_dean Dan_martin In the last week, the blog team here at Garmin headquarters has been caught up in local cycling action while Team Garmin races through our neighboring state in the Tour of Missouri. And while a least one blogger offered to grab his visa and a nüvi and catch a flight to cover the finale of the Tour of Britain, we’ll have to settle for reporting the good news stateside. Team Garmin has been proving their edge in the 8-stage Tour of Britain, which wraps up in Liverpool on Sunday. In yesterday’s 168km stage, marked by three climbs near the end, Julian Dean, New Zealand national champ, finished 5th, earning him 3rd place in points. Julian’s in top form near the end of the racing season, having finished 3rd overall in the Tour of Ireland less than 2 weeks ago. And Team Garmin’s Dan Martin is doing stellar on his home turf, as he stands in 3rd place overall. In the team GC, Team Garmin is 4th. Of course the action doesn’t end there – other Garmin-sponsored teams – Team Milram and Team Lampre – recently wrapped up the Tour of Germany – providing 9 days of action-packed racing. Seems like no matter where you are or where you’re looking around the cycling world, you’re sure to see the Garmin name racing toward the finish line. Stay tuned for more Team Garmin updates . . .
