Just two weeks after cruising down the Champs-Elysees, Danny Pate was turning heads at Vuelta a Burgos as he finished second only to teammate Tom Danielson in the individual time trial and helped Tom reach the podium in the overall. Also working on short recovery, Tyler Farrar took out a field sprint win at the Heusdenkoers kermesse near his European home in Belgium. Tyler followed that up by sprinting to victory in Hamburg, Germany, in the Vattenfall Cyclassics, a prestigious ProTour Classic.

"Winning a classic is something special," Tyler said to Bicycling magazine. "I've been knocking on the door all season. I've shown that when it comes to a sprint I can be there. The team is starting to believe in me and that helps a lot."

It was an awesome experience," Tom told VeloNews. "I’m really happy about it. You prepare yourself to do it, but until you really do it, then the mind makes the connection with the body and then you start to believe that you can do this all the time. But you need that breakthrough and then your body follows your mind. It’s a nice feeling after so much hard work."

More hard work lies ahead for Team Garmin with the Tour of Britain, Vuelta a Espana and Tour of Missouri right around the corner.
