Takes a Lickin’ and Keeps on Tickin’
"Saturday, September 9, three months later, I decided to work on the boat some and as I went to pick up my “water proof storage box” it felt a little heavy. Sure enough the thing was full of water with my Garmin sitting on the bottom. Of course everything was ruined; my Garmin manual was like “mush” and I was sure my Garmin would make a good boat anchor.
"I decide to check it out just in case. I let it dry in the sun for a few hours, put in some fresh batteries and held my breath. I turned it on and it did come on. It was no surprise that the display was nothing but a horizontal straight line; I did not give up. I put the thing in my oven at 200 degrees for 1.5 hours. When I turned it back on, most of the display was there but there were still missing parts. I put it back in the oven at 250 degrees for 1.5 hours, turned it on and you guessed it, it will be going back to Canada next year but this time it stays in my pack.
"To say the least, I’m impressed."
