Six Reasons You Need Panoptix Sonar

Ever since Garmin Panoptix sonar was announced in February, it has turned quite a few heads. People have referred to it as the future of fishing; revolutionary; an absolute game changer. There is simply nothing on the market like it. Here are six reasons why Panoptix sonar is a must-have for any serious angler.

1. Bait Testing

Panoptix is fantastic for testing your lures. Ever get a crankbait or jerkbait right out of the box that doesn’t run as deep as it says it does? With Panoptix, you can see exactly how deep your lure is going. Trying to bounce your bait off the bottom a certain distance? Panoptix can tell you how many feet you need to rip it up to get into the strike zone.

2. LiveVü

One of the biggest advantages to Panoptix is LiveVü technology. Unlike traditional sonar that shows you a history of what happened, Panoptix gives you the ability to watch what is happening in the water column in real-time.

3. Watch How Fish React to Your Lure

Have you ever thrown a crankbait and had fish constantly slap at it, but not commit? That’s a telltale sign that you need to switch colors or size. What you couldn’t see before Panoptix, unless you were fishing crystal clear water, were fish that approached your lure. You can now watch your lure go through the water column live and see fish approach your bait and eat it or lose interest swim away from it. This can tell you that you’re getting the fish’s attention, but not enough to make it commit. A quick change might turn your day around and get you a check in a tournament.

4. See Underwater in Front of Your Boat

With Panoptix, you don’t have to worry about spooking fish when you drive over them, because you don’t have to drive over them. Simply stop before the target and scan the area using your Panoptix PS31 trolling motor mounted transducer. See fish in brush piles or on a stump, suspended fish, and whether a fish is swimming towards or away from you. It’s basically like you’re looking underwater with your own eyes!

5. See the Water Column in 3D

Have a 3D view of the bottom, structure and fish are. You can also control how quickly the area is scanned to provide greater or less detail, making it very easy to identify where the fish really are.

6. Advantage: You

There is no doubt that Garmin Panoptix sonar gives you a leg up against the competition. Not only can it help you become a more aware and competent angler, but it can also help you win more tournaments. Simply put, if you don’t have it, you’re missing out on catching a lot of fish.
