If you don’t follow Garmin closely, then you may not realize that many of our new GPS receivers now are equipped with the new SiRFstar III GPS chip. So what, you say? This new technology allows you to acquire a signal faster and maintain it much better, even in thick tree cover, deep canyons, or near tall skyscrapers.
The new-fangled receiver is currently available on the nüvi, the iQue M4, the Edge 205 and 305, the Forerunner 205 and 305, the GPSMAP 60Cx and 60CSx, and the GPSMAP 76Cx and 76CSx.
