Prop & Spinner: Nrst/Find Shortcut
Just when you thought Prop & Spinner exhausted their repertoire of GPSMAP 396 buttons with dual functions, there’s more! This is the third in a series of four helpful tips and tricks for your 396.
The nrst/find button allows you to find the nearest airport or other type of aviation information when you need it quickly. Press the button once takes you to the nearest page. Press the button again it will take you to the nearest airport. Press the button again and it will take you to a page that allows you to find non-aviation items. If you have the MapSource City Navigator software from the optional auto kit you can find restaurants, lodging, and local attractions. This is handy in the event that you need to land because the weather is looking bad ahead or Spinner’s stomach is getting hungry.
