Peg’s Posts: Forerunner 405: have it your way

Featurepegsposts Cflg2_3 We’re a picky lot, we runners. If it weren’t so, Runner’s World would only devote a solitary page for their annual summer shoe guide and we’d all be wearing black shorts and plain white singlets. But runners want options. The new Forerunner 405 has plenty of them. Let’s start with matters of the heart. You can buy it with heart rate monitor or without. Saves you about $50 to buy the non-HR version. And, if you own a previous Forerunner model with heart rate, you can pair the heart rate monitor with the new 405. Now for color.

Fr405greencropThe 405 is available in a light sage green or black, and you can get either color style with or without heart rate. Both models have identical features. Click here for a listing of Forerunner 405 versions. Note that the only difference in the European and Pacific version is the adapters for the AC charging cable. The 405 is GPS-enabled but it does not have map detail, so regardless of where you buy it, it’ll track your run data anywhere in the world. And then you can share that data with a worldwide community at Garmin Connect.
