Day and night at Lowe’s Motor Speedway
After earning the pole for last week’s Sprint Showdown, Elliott Sadler and the No. 19 Best Buy/Garmin Dodge will start from the ninth position at Sunday’s Coca-Cola 600. The longest track on the circuit, drivers will start in bright daylight, and finish long after the sun goes down at Lowe’s Motor Speedway. Elliott will take on this 1.5 mile track in the GEM No. 233 car that was last used at Texas and Las Vegas. “I like what we brought to the recent test at Lowe’s and Kasey (Kahne) showed we have the right equipment to win there by what he did in the All-Star Race.”
Elliott says there are two things to winning the Coca-Cola 600: “First, you have to be mentally prepared to run that race. It’s a totally different mindset than any other race we run,” he said. “Second, you have got to have a car that will go the distance. The engine takes a lot of abuse going that many RPMs for that long.” Good luck, Elliott! Everyone on team Garmin is rooting for ya!
The 400-lap race action starts 5 pm ET, Sunday, on FOX.
