OHR now Available for Swim on Forerunner 245 and 945

Calling all swimmers: You can now get your heart rate right at the wrist with your Forerunner 245/245 Music and 945.

Yes, this means you can dive into the water strap-free. Whether you prefer lane lines or the freedom of open water, now your watch can monitor your heart rate right at the wrist while you swim. This means you can track calories burned, quantify the intensity of your swim and check to see how your swim activities contribute to your all-day heart rate chart. Glance down at your heart rate in real time as you swim to see if you’re where you want to be, check out your average and max values during resting breaks and then analyze your heart rate post-swim on Garmin Connect.

Learn how to set up wrist-based heart rate on your Forerunner:

  • Go to settings (press and hold UP button) on watch
  • Scroll to Wrist Heart Rate
  • Select “While Swimming”
  • Turn On
