You might have watched some of the fastest pilots on the planet in the first Red Bull Air Race in Abu Dhabi last month. Now fans and followers of the series can test their own skills on the courses with a Red Bull Air Race – The Game, a newly-updated smartphone app that includes Garmin Racing’s Pete McLeod and his Garmin VIRB plane.

And the best part? If you master the game you may win a trip to the actual Air Race and fly in a real Air Race plane.

Fans can download the app, enter online, and compete at every leg around the world. Each virtual stage-race winner will be invited to Las Vegas to compete in the first Virtual Red Bull Air Race championship and attend the real 2015 season finale in Las Vegas on October 17-18. The Virtual Champion will also meet the actual World Champion and experience a G-flight experience in a real two-seater Air Race plane.

As the official action camera partner of the Air Race World Championship, Garmin VIRB Elite action cameras are used to capture compelling race footage from the cockpit with data overlays including speed, altitude, g-force and GPS location. VIRB’s high-definition videos with unique inset data will provide a complete experience of what it’s like to fly the series’ racetracks, showing the pilots in the Master Class category navigating the advanced aerial challenges at top speed.

To download the free Red Bull Air Race game, visit the iTunes Store or Google Play.
