March 2015: Introducing Garmin Vantage ADS-B Solutions

In our eNewsletter this week, we featured a number of new product announcements that we have introduced over the last several weeks, including a variety of ADS-B solutions! Several weeks ago, we were proud to unveil Garmin Vantage, the industry’s most comprehensive line-up of ADS-B solutions. These ADS-B solutions serve a diverse number of aircraft and their operators, including experimental, general aviation, helicopter, business and transport category aircraft. The GDL 84H and GDL 88H are the latest additions to the Garmin Vantage family, which provide helicopter operators with a rule-compliant ADS-B Out solution. Features such as On Scene Mode, TargetTrend and TerminalTraffic sets these Vantage solution apart from other industry solutions.
The latest iOS update for Garmin Pilot adds features tailored to helicopter operators, including helicopter route charts that display detailed helicopter airways and routes, heliports and more for eight major metropolitan areas and the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally, with the latest iOS update, pilots can easily identify the highest obstacle along a planned route. This is particularly convenient for helicopter air ambulance operators, who are required to do so per § 135.615
