Iron Cowboy Finishes 25th Consecutive Day

Iron Cowboy

Iron Cowboy continues to amaze followers as he passed the halfway point of his goal to complete 50 full ironman distances in 50 states in 50 consecutive days. James Lawrence finished his 25th ironman early on Wednesday morning. Now he starts the descent of his journey to the finish line in Utah.

We caught up with his project manager Jordan Maddocks on Wednesday afternoon during the Iron Cowboy’s bike portion of the race.“We’re on the downhill slope so this should make the time go a little bit faster,” he said. “To be on the other side of that is a humongous feat.”

Helping in this tremendous accomplishment is the support on the ground. Almost 200 people showed up for the 5K in North Carolina earlier this week. Whether it is his family with him in the RV or the stranger cheering him on from the sidewalk, every place he goes there is always positivity. Having this support drives James when he is grasping for that last bit of energy during the day.

“You can see the look in his eyes with the support from the 5k and the people that run with him,” Maddocks expressed. “It’s really overwhelming the support he has on those races.”

Now that James accomplished this milestone, the rest of his team can feel the momentum building for the final part of this trip.

“Every day is a new record,” Maddocks explained. “Every day is a new PR. Every day is a new day and that’s the most exciting part for James.”
