  Iron Cowboy 40

On June 6th, James Lawrence set out to achieve his goal and has not looked back. His quest is: 50 Ironman distances in 50 days in 50 states. Since his start, he has battled multiple injuries and some difficult summer conditions, but continues to push forward with a positive attitude and amazing support from friends, fans and his family. The Iron Cowboy continues to defy the limits. The inspiration he gives to those around the country is immeasurable. His grit, determination and epic athleticism reaches beyond just triathletes. He is proof to anyone that the unthinkable is possible.

This past Wednesday in Indiana, James Lawrence completed his 40th Ironman distance in a row in the 40th state. Through 40 days, James has finished 96 swimming miles, 4,490 miles on the bike and 1,048 miles of running. That is a total of 5,634 miles. To put it in perspective, it is equivalent to driving from LA to NYC and then back.

It is an astonishing feat, which leaves him 10 days away from completing his overall goal. The final race will be in his home state of Utah on July 25. There is a special welcome home celebration being planned so stay tuned for more information!
