Introducing the Connect IQ Store
The era of the smartwatch is here and we couldn’t be anymore excited about it. With our new line of smartwatches and the takeoff of our new Connect IQ store, we are setting the stage in the wearable devices market. Connect IQ is our app store within Garmin Connect that allows you to personalize and customize your Garmin smartwatch. Using the Connect IQ store, you can add custom apps, widgets, data fields and unique watch faces to your Fenix 3, Epix, Forerunner 920XT, or vivoactive. So how do widgets, apps, watch faces and data fields look on your watch and what do they do for you exactly? See our explanation below:
Apps: Download new apps designed to enhance the functions of your Garmin device. We use GPS and compass to guide users on the trail, but one of our community members built an amazing app with the same sensors to guide you through outer space with an app called SkyWatch. This is just an example of the powerful apps that can made from the technology on these devices.
Data Fields: These fields can make a normal piece of data on your Garmin device look much more exciting. Don’t just look at your heart rate in a numerical format; see a picture of what your heart rate did during your last hike. Data fields enhance the data you care about most.
Watch Faces: This one is pretty straight forward, by downloading a new watch face to you can instantly change the appearance of your watch. These faces will allow you to customize your watch to whatever fits you best that day.
Widgets: With widgets you can be less reliant on your smartphone for basic information. Things like your calendar can be easily displayed on your watch if you need to glance at it quickly.
With over 300 apps already available, the Connect IQ store is a big value to the already valuable connect IQ compatible devices.
