Green, McCumbee Aim for a Stronger Finish

_pma2863w_jpg For both of the Garmin sponsored NASCAR drivers, a few mishaps along the way made last weekends race at Michigan International Speedway end a bit more disappointing than it started.

For NEXTEL Cup driver Jeff Green and the No. 66 Best Buy / Garmin Chevrolet, an accident causing Jeff’s fender to affect his driving performance, resulted in much slower lap times than the race leaders. After crews repaired the car, Jeff returned to 33rd position, as the last car one lap down to the race leaders. Despite the team’s efforts, Jeff dropped one spot as the race continued, for a 32nd-position finish. With 21 events to go, Green has some room for improvement this Sunday, June 24, at the Toyota/Save Mart 350 in Sonoma, CA. In the past, Jeff has finished on the lead lap in all four of his NEXTEL Cup Series starts at Infineon Raceway. Tune in Sunday to see Jeff and fellow NEXTEL Cup drivers take on the the first of two events at the 12-turn road course of Infineon, starting at 3:30 p.m. EDT. Good luck, Jeff!

ChadAlso experiencing some small mishaps along the raceway of MIS, was Craftsman Truck Series driver Chad McCumbee and his No. 08 theGPSstore.com / Garmin Chevrolet Silverado. The mishaps however, weren’t large enough to keep Chad and team from a top-20 finish. Tonight Chad heads to the Toyota Tundra Milwaukee 200, to take on the oldest, continually operating motor speedway in the World, The Milwaukee Mile.

Chad says he’s looking forward to returning to a short track this weekend, and with a lot of momentum still coming from his NEXTEL Cup race just two weekends ago, we think he’ll be able to make that finish a bit stronger this time around! Go get ’em, Chad!
