Geocaching With Students

"Next the eggs (caches) were hidden on the school campus with a
small bag of M&M’s in each egg that was later used to create a
spreadsheet. With a digital camera, GPSes, and a basket to collect the
eggs, students in their respective groups excitedly ventured out to
find their treasures. At each find: pictures were taken, eggs gathered,
and bags of M&M’s counted and tallied by color. Data was organized
and graphed using an Excel spreadsheet.

"An ordinary egg hunt turned into a satellite-driven treasure hunt with high-energy activity and meaningful group interaction."
