Garmin Helps Guide the 2013 Pheasants Forever Rooster Road Trip

Rooster-Road-TripPheasant season is open across most of the northern tier
of the United States, and Pheasants Forever, the country’s largest upland
nonprofit habitat association, is hitting the road in their annual Rooster Road
Trip
to draw awareness to upland habitat destruction.

From today through November 1st, three
intrepid hunters and their bird dogs will hunt their way across five states
(North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and Minnesota) – walking only
public land.  This year’s event focuses on the importance of aggressively continuing to
create these public-land projects for generations to come.

Along the way, the hunters will use Garmin to
navigate and document their adventures.
They’re using the Delta
Upland
, Astro
GPS Dog Tracking System
, Alpha
GPS Tracking and Training System
, and the Montana
large-format outdoor navigator
in the field, as well as a trusty nüvi personal navigator to guide them
down the highways and byways.

Perhaps even more exciting is that they’ll be
toting some of our new VIRB
Elite
HD action cameras on both hunters and dogs.  Look for some exciting videos from them later
this week.  Until then, here’s a preview
of what to expect:

If you care about preserving upland habitat and the birds found within, make sure you join Pheasants Forever today. You could even win some great prizes for that next hunting trip of your own!
