Forerunners keep New Year’s resolution up and running

Bill_2 Here at Garmin, we like to blur the line between work and play. One way we do that is to hire people who enjoy using our products in their hobbies (hiking, cycling, boating, flying, hunting, etc.). For a great example, look no further than Bill, an IT guy who has been using his Forerunners to reach his goals:

"My wife and I have a tradition on New Year’s Eve where we write down our personal goals for the coming year. For some reason three years ago I chose to run a marathon. I just completed my 8th marathon yesterday in Las Vegas using the ‘50/205‘ strategy to increase my odds for a successful race. My new Forerunner 50 with heart rate monitor and foot pad was put through its ‘paces’ both indoors and out to help keep my training on track. With my trusty training ‘partners’ – the Forerunner 205 and MotionBased account – I was able to download the course for course points and pacing and even view and simulate the route with a variety of maps including street, photo, and elevation with the map viewer. After the race I was able to review my pace, split times and download to my computer to help prepare for my next run. I am planning on taking the next few hard-earned days off and then resume my training for the PF Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon in Phoenix on January 13th."

Stay tuned for more of Bill’s marathon musings…
