Solar/Lunar Fishing and Hunting Calendar
Become a more efficient angler with quatix by using the built-in fishing and hunting solar/lunar calendar. This information is based on moonrise and moonset times, along with the moon’s position (based on your position), and various other data gathered by Garmin. Fish and wildlife tend to be more active at certain times during certain moonphases, and quatix assists you in figuring out those times, right at your fingertips.
We recently took a trip to Palm Beach, Fla., where the above photo was taken, and found these peak times to be spot on. It was a slow morning, but thanks to the Garmin xHD2 radar “Bird Mode” setting and the quatix telling us the peak fishing times, we found a school of dolphin (mahi mahi) chasing bait right around 9 AM and the bite was hot until two hours later, right when the quatix said it would be.
