Deena Kastor rocks it in San Jose
Congrats to Deena Kastor for her first place finish at the Rock’n’Roll San Jose half marathon on Sunday. Deena dashed through the flat course in a time of 1:12:23 — a full three minutes ahead of her closest contender. This was a spectacular race for Deena, who just became a mom in February. Coming off the heels of this win, she said she’ll be ready to dive back into training to prepare for the Olympic Trials in January. Deena said the biggest difference she’s found since using Garmin products (she currently trains with the Forerunner 210) has been the ability to keep training while traveling. “My workouts would be compromised when I traveled because I didn’t know exactly how far I was running,” Deena said. “Many times I would compromise a 10-mile tempo run for a good effort 1 hour run; I never pushed as hard when my watch wasn’t holding me accountable.” While we can’t guarantee a Forerunner will make you faster like Kastor, we do know numbers don’t lie.
See what other Garmin-sponsored pro athletes have to say about their favorite features. Deena Kastor and Josh Cox will be signing autographs at our booth at the ING NYC Marathon expo, Nov. 3-5, so stop by to meet some of the fastest feet among the elites.
