Day 1 at the Miami Boat Show
It's a busy first day of the Miami International Boat Show for the Garmin marine team! We started the morning at the Tiara Yachts booth for a press conference that not only announced their new 31-foot model- equipped with Garmin electronics – but also acknowledged their new on-going relationship with Garmin as a selected electronics provider for a number of their models, including the 4800 Convertible equipped with triple Garmin MFDs on the bridge. Back at the booth, the new GSD 26 black-box sounder is on display and getting a ton of attention. Fisherman are excited to see new sounders from Garmin and are impressed when they hear about the 26's Spread Spectrum technology that delivers much more detail and target separation by sweeping each pulse through a range of low to high frequencies. Users can also switch from Spread Spectrum to traditional fixed-frequency mode, and can manually adjust the sonar configuration to fine-tune the images of what's below. Recreational fisherman are also eager to learn more about the new dual-frequency GSD 24, which has been redesigned to bring dramatically improved bottom tracking and extra high-definition imaging to your chartplotter screen.
