Ben pedals through snow, winter training

Then around 70 minutes in, we rode past a farm with horses riding around a ring and jumping things. Courtenay’s eyes lit up, and suddenly there was no frown. I spent seventy minutes making a fool of myself for her benefit and it had a negligible effect compared to seeing horses playing in the snow. Regardless of the source, she forgave me and we rode a second loop of the hill with the horses and headed back to round off an even two hours in the cold.

This was my first outdoor ride in several weeks, so I was just happy to be outside. I must admit – had I been alone, the ride would have been much less fun, and my rambling probably did more to cheer me up than Courtenay. Regardless, I would highly recommend a pair of polar fleece cycling tights if you’re planning to head outside in winter weather!

You can look at this activity and some others (I haven’t posted much because I’ve been inside so much) at my Garmin Connect account.
