4 Best Places to Mount VIRB While Fishing
When getting your first action camera, there is a huge learning curve in learning where to place mounts to get the best shots, and you’ll most likely go through your fair share of sticky mounts. Today, we’re going to go over some of the best locations to place your VIRB X and VIRB XE and the best mounts to use for your fishing expeditions.
1. Next to starboard side console
This is a great view for capturing any action on the front deck and around the starboard side of the boat. If you happen to bring your fish around to this side to lip them, this is the perfect view. We recommend either the Watersport Mount for VIRB X/XE or the Suction Cup Mount for placing your VIRB here.
2. Port side, next to the passenger seat
For capturing action on the port side of your boat, it doesn’t get much better than this. It will capture a wide range of footage, and can capture your fish coming up to the boat this way. We recommend the Watersport Mount.
3. Chest Strap Mount
One of our favorite mounts for fishing with the VIRB X and XE is the Chest Strap Mount. It’s the one mount that you can capture basically anything you see with your eye. If angled correctly, you can capture close-ups of hooksets, casts, and fish catches, with this one mount.
4. Wrist Strap
We love the new Wrist Strap mount for capturing casts in slow-mo. It has a very comfortable pad that makes it easy to wear for extended periods of time and also to keep the camera from moving around. To add production value to your videos, this is a must-have!
