Over 400 women, plus throngs of volunteers and spectators, descended on Smithville, Missouri on Saturday for the 3rd annual WIN for KC Women’s Triathlon. In a race where merely crossing the finish line was an unattainable feat for some, Christian Vande Velde pulled off a 17th place finish at the road race in Beijing.
