Victor’s Vectors: Garmin ESP

Air200 We're at it again. We're constantly trying to improve safety of flight and we've announced a new system that is intended to do just that. Garmin ESP is a stability augmentation system that helps keep pilots out of trouble in certain situations. This electronic monitoring and exceedance-correcting technology works to assist the pilot in maintaining his or her aircraft in a safe, flight-stable condition, helping to prevent the onset of stall/spins, overspeeds, steep spirals or other loss-of-control conditions, should the pilot become distracted, disoriented or incapacitated during flight. Garmin ESP will first be available on the G1000-equipped King Air 200. You can read all about the G1000-equipped King Air 200 from our site and Flying magazine.

Garmin ESP is one of several EAA AirVenture Oshkosh announcements. We'll be revealing the other announcements the opening day of the show, July 26, during our press conference at 9:15 am in the Garmin exhibit. If you're at the show, make sure you stop by the Garmin exhibit in Hangar D and we'll tell you about all of our new goodies. If you're not able to attend the show, keep following the blog for regular updates.
