The fall is approaching and with the changing seasons the Midwest is starting to see more than its fair share of severe weather.  If you have ever flown a flight threw or around severe weather, then you know the value of weather in the cockpit for in-flight decision making.  This time of year I don’t make a cross-country flight without a GPSMAP 396, 496, or 696 on the yoke.  If you haven’t had the opportunity to see for yourself what a value these portables can be visit your local Garmin Aviation Dealer to see if there is a demo unit that you can see first hand.  While you’re there, you’ll see how easy it is to use.

For example, did you can turn the 396/496’s weather on or off from the map page by holding the Menu/WX button down for two seconds. This feature is handy when you need to clear the weather off quickly to look at airspace information on the map page.
