Update your aviation handheld’s software today!
Garmin has identified an issue with reception of XM weather products for the GPSMAP 396 and GPSMAP 496 that will make it difficult for the device to receive weather information. This issue has been corrected with a free software release from Garmin. The 396 will need software version 4.60 or higher and the 496 will need software version 3.70 or higher. This software can be downloaded from Garmin’s website with the use of the Garmin WebUpdater which is available to download here. If you have any problems installing the latest software version please contact Garmin’s Aviation Technical Support at 1-866-739-5687, M-F, 7-7, CST.
