Ten races in 2010 = Forerunner 110

Forerunner110 Pink-R#ECA4BA We often find that a runner equipped with a Forerunner gets a big dose of motivation from seeing how far and how fast they can go. But the letter below flips this equation around. A highly motivated runner from Louisiana writes about setting a lofty year-long goal with a Forerunner 110 as her reward. We're certain she'll be setting and hitting new goals in no time.

Today was quite a day for me. At the beginning of this year, I decided that I would complete 10 big (farther than a 5K) races in 2010. It has been 10 years since I graduated high school and I wanted to get in enough to complete my 10th marathon in 2010. The numbers just all seem to align. If I completed my goal and did well throughout the year, my treat to myself would be a Forerunner 110 GPS watch. I have never owned one of these and have anticipated the day that I could put on my watch and my shoes and just go – without a set course – plus all the other amazing features! Up until now, I have only used a stopwatch with a split button. Great, but now I am a runner and want to splurge on something just for me. Today I set a personal best in the Baton Rouge Beach Half Marathon at 1:37 – which completes my list of races and challenges from the year:

Disney Goofy Challenge, Rock'n'Roll Mardi Gras New Orleans full, Crescent City Classic 10K, Rocketchix Sprint Triathlon, Mobile edition of Gulf Coast Adventure Racing, Rock'n Roll Seattle full, Athens, Georgia half-marathon, ING New York City Marathon (my 10th!), New Orleans Turkey Day Race 5 miler, Baton Rouge Beach half marathon…and I qualified for Boston!

I am going to be making my purchase soon, Garmin. Thank you for making a product that I could work so hard for and set my sights and goals on. I am looking forward to training with my new toy! Keep it up!
